This is a sample message file for use with sendmail, this line and all
lines up to the line beginning with $$rick are treated as comment lines
and ignored by the program.
$$rick
\\techdata
test message
This is a test message sent to myself and saved on the server techdata.
This message could be of any length, but must be saved as a TEXT file NOT
a word processor file
The next line signals the program that this message is through.
$$end
These are more comment lines and will not be sent. They can consists of any
thing. Below is a message I received using getmail.
Message from Johnh On server: Techdata
Comment: project status
Whats the status on the 301 paper?
John
$$Johnh
\\techdata
John
I am waiting for Sam M to free up some time to discuss the performance issues
should have rough draft ready friday.
Rick
$$end
These are more comment lines and so ignored.
By moving the address lines above the start of the message from John I could
have quoted his original message in my reply ie:
$$Johnh
\\techdata
Message from Johnh On server: Techdata
Comment: project status

John
